    Clutch is stuck-Replacement?

Thanks Joop, the coolant issue is a must because I have a roadworthy/MOT test next month. Emissions are always a problem but I don't want my leaking coolant to be an added problem. And next winter I know what to do!!

    Clutch is stuck-Replacement?

So glad that I took your advice Joop, your suggestion worked perfectly:clapping: That piece of wood has been there since Friday and this morning I put her in gear, depressed the clutch and started the engine and no jumping forward. So thanks very much Joop, you've saved me a months work and a...

    Clutch is stuck-Replacement?

Thanks Joop, a friend of mine has a few sheep, some Scottish breed, and he's planning on renting them out to get extra income. He says that he never has to cut his grass. Its a perfect solution! I wouldn't mind a 15 minutes trim! My cut is more like 15 weeks!!

    Clutch is stuck-Replacement?

Hey Reid, nice to hear from you, the forum wooden be the same without your sense of humour:clapping: My fan usually turns on at about 10 minutes, but thanks for the advice about the oil and the vapour. Still hoping that Joop's method will work and that the clutch will release.

    Clutch is stuck-Replacement?

Thanks for the good advice Joop. I've already tried quite a few times to start it in 1st gear and reverse, but that didn't work even after a few days of trying. I've put a piece of wood between the clutch and seat as you suggested and will leave it like that for a few days. Lets hope! Weekends...

    Clutch is stuck-Replacement?

Hi Everyone, It's been ages since I posted anything on the forum, so my apologies. However, I regularly read everyones posts and follow your adventures. My GTL has been resting for the past 4 months. I don't drive her at all in winter because of the mud which sticks to everything. Every 2-3...

    Cannot open bonnet

Happened to me as well and after about an hour, I just lifted the bonnet by hand as the catch wasn't even engaged. It's the spring that lifts the bonnet and if that has slipped off it doesn't pop the bonnet upwards, so it just stays flat. Give it a go!!

    Idiots guide to bleeding brakes

A few years ago, I was having a huge problem bleeding my brakes. Angel suggested a vacuum pump, so I ordered one from Amazon and was surprised how easy my life became. I used to use the brake pedal method but wasn't always able to find someone to pump the pedal for me. One thing should be...

Rotor arm and points for an R4 1974 Model 1123 Ducellier.

((There is a plastic tube covering the wire which comes up against a metal 'thing' and that is where the wire seems to get jammed. I am wondering if this just requires a mechanic's knowhow, or if we will again have to source parts. Would be very grateful for any advice.)) Hi Trish, I'm sure...

    Gasolina no óleo motor

Silva, check the condition of your spark plugs. If they are black then your fuel mixture is too rich. Also check that you actually have a spark on all the spark plugs. If there is no spark then the fuel won't ignite. Does your car run okay? Silva, verifique a condição de suas velas de ignição...

    Gasolina no óleo motor

You'll get more help in English, Silva......... The R4GTL has semi-dry gasoline filter. Gasoline does not go to the tank because it has anti return valve. The motor oil smells like gasoline. Does the carburetor’s gasoline valve fill the tank too much and this pours into the engine? If anyone...

How to remove camshaft 845cc Billancourt

Sorry, I said to "tap the gear out". I meant to say tap the bush out. No idea what size the thread is. Renault used to have a special tool to take out the bush

How to remove camshaft 845cc Billancourt

Hi Homegrown, you don't need a special tool. Turn the block on its side so that you can see the bottom of the gear. Then get something that is the same size (like a socket) and tap the gear until its high enough for the cam to be pulled out Have a look at my page...

    Plastic trim

There are also some plastic tabs. I can't remember exactly where they are. I broke mine when I tried to force it off. A few months ago there was a similar enquiry and photos as well.

    Which way does this fit?

It sounds like your needle valve in the float chamber is stuck in the closed position. As the chamber gets filled, the float rises and shuts off the needle valve to stop the fuel supply.

    Hard start

Hi b12cky, I think that Grenuj is correct, it needs a cleaning but hopefully not a rebuild. There are 2 flaps/butterflies on the carburetor, one is the choke butterfly and on the other side is the throttle flap. The throttle flap only opens when you use your accelerator pedal. Fuel and air can...
