1978 4l door lock

Hi allbit of advice if possiblemy rear door does not lock from inside or outside.
Everything seems to move, including the locking pin. But it isn't engaging whatever it needs to engage
Is there anything I could try before going for a replacement?

Hi

I suggest taking out the lock completely. You can then do a visual check to see if anything is broken/missing and actuate the lock away from the door to try to isolate the problem.

I guess you've already checked this but sometimes the locking bar on the boot floor can move so loosen it and move it outwards then tighten to see if the lock will engage .
