Evening all,
I have a very solid, usable 1108cc LHD I would consider selling that originally came from Central France. I'm located just north of Glasgow.
It's now fully UK registered with the DVLA. V5 present. With it's age, it is of course road tax and Mot exempt however I had it Mot'd just a couple of months ago to underline it is in good fettle.
The car provides a new custodian with a great basis to improve further or enjoy and use as is. Although I'm not desperate to sell, I'm happy to pass on to a fellow enthusiast who is in the market for a usable and presentable R4 they can enjoy with the hard work done. I currently have plenty on my plate; including a Volvo Amazon, a Hillman Imp, a Sammio Spyder and a Campervan all needing my attention, time and resources, so at least one of the stable needs to go to a new home!
It drives well, the heater, wipers and lights all work. The body could do with some light tlc and finishing with some polishing needed. It also has the odd ding and isolated rust spot. The paint is a mixed bag but presentable. Personally I like them with a slight lived in look as long as the car is solid as this is. You could easily focus on the paint make it as nice as you want it to be. Also note the speedo has stopped working recently.
The black vinyl interior is original and in presentable condition with the odd sign of wear. The front rubber floor mat is present but is split and could do with replacement. Headlining is good. Bumpers are good. It is however missing one of the front wing infill panel sections of the grey plastic trim (if anyone has a nearside one available for sale please get in touch) Otherwise it is all there.
Lots of replacement parts came from suppliers in France. Work has included;
-Body off re-commissioning with extensive welding and repairs carried out to the chassis including the rear suspension to a high standard
-Engine and gearbox removed and refitted to allow engine bay preparation/painting
-fully serviced with fluids, filters and belts changed.
-Refurbished fuel tank
-All new brakes fitted all round including a new master cylinder
-Brand new exhaust
-New suspension components fitted.
-5x Brand new tyres
-5 x Steel wheels powder coated in silver
-New front wings - Rear are ok but nearside has some light rust along upper edge
-Fitted with new period style raised number plates
-Chassis, Inner wings, boot floor and floor pans are all excellent condition.
