Excellent! It doesn't look like it did to badly until the end. What happened at the back? Was it squeezed against a barrier or is that the result of careful lifting back onto the trailer?

Another thing I've always wondered - presumably the engine is forced against the front bulkhead in a bump. I see the triangular section of chassis is bent. Do you have any photos of the inside of the car after the race?
 
Looking at the accident damaged car I have and that one, it does seem that when you hit something you tend to go under the car in front and then everything gets pushed back into the engine.
 
i do have a name of a company that sells P38 and P40 in bulk if you decide to get it back on the road ! :)
 
I've noticed French banger races seem to be a bit too fond of R4s, which is a shame.

Fair enough if they're rusted to bits, but I think a lot of good Renault 4s are being wasted
