Have you tried your local Renault dealer??

Hi Steve, No I haven't. Didn't think R4 parts would still be available through main dealers. And dealer prices put me off also. I suppose its worth an inquiry though. I know Citroen no longer supply parts for the 2CV and I think BX parts are limited from main dealers also and the BX is not that old. I imagine the thinking behind it is to maintain new car sales.

You could buy accelerator cables last year from Renault - I think for about £10. If you go into your local dealer then make sure you take your oval plate number. Otherwise Whitehouse Renault are very helpful and can post.

Hi Clementine, I am back with this one. I am still looking for that cable. I phoned my local Renault garage and I was laughed at!
