Are there different knuckle arms and will this fit a 1972 R4?Are there differnt types?

It is not suitable for your R4, this is for 1979 onwards cars. Difference lies in the diameter of tapered bore for the steering track rod end.
Is yours bent?

No not bent but the upper ball joint is stuck inside, tried drilling it and just lost patience, Most probably will source a second hand one locally.thanks as usual for your help!
