Ball Joint Splitter

I'm thinking of investing in a new ball joint splitter - the only one I have at the moment is the wedge type that damages the ball joint seals, and I'm planning to replace my front discs next week.

Of the two other types - those G shaped ones seem prone to bending and slipping off, and I've never tried the scissor shaped ones.

What do you guys use? Can you recommend any?

If i'm replaceing the ball joints due to wear i just remove the nut and hit the threaded portion with a hammer . If i'm reuseing (which is'ent often) the ball joint i find a spare nut a non locking type with the same thread and fit that to the top of the thead and hit that. I have managed without an extractor and never had a problem with my hammer method. I also always keep any ball joint rubbers from old ball joints and there clips just in case there ever needed for good ball joints with a damaged rubber.
