Bonnet jammed

Hi all
Need some advice on how to get bonnet open if bonnet release isn’t working. I can press the bonnet release catch in ok but it isn’t releasing the bonnet so not sure if something has disconnected underneath the bonnet itself….any suggestions/advice welcome

It's the spring that has fallen off the catch so the bonnet isn't popping up by itself. Get someone to pull the bonnet up while you press the lever.

As Malcolm says, it's probably the spring.
There's a good chance that when you open the bonnet, the catch will look like the one on the left (it should look like the one on the right). You can get the spring back into place with a good pair of mole grips, and then squeeze the 'hook' together so the spring doesn't pop out again.

Yes, this has happened before and I tried to get it to stay in place with some wire but it’s obviously not worked…it did for a few weeks. I’ll get the hook squeezed once I’ve got it open

Mine's in the same state currently, I find with the drivers door open I can operate the lever with my left arm whilst reaching out and lifting the corner of the bonnet enough to release it from middle/catch
