Hi all. can anyone suggest a 4L brake specialist in the middle of the country. I have spoken to Derek at Renospeed and he can take it but he is in Kent, which is a long way in a car with no brakes. So... The car is a 72, drums all round, that has not operated for 30+years so will need a very thorough refettlement, and bits replacing. Any suggestions. Its probably beyond my capabilities, both technical and at this age, physically. Edwin.

yes it should be
but most modern garages want easy stuff to do with parts on the shelf and no risk of it being stuck in pieces trying to track down which variant of shoes and cylinders are fitted
trying to fit cylinders to front of drum brake car is a bit tricky if you've not done one b4 seized square adjusters too
acess to bolts etc
would advise all pipes hoses and master cylinder too
again I could offer but I am on south coast
renault reborn are in Lincoln I think is that close enough ?

Lincoln is within striking distance. I will give them a look. Thank you for that.

They are in Louth about 150 km away. Any ideas for somewhere closer?

I'm with you Edwin. I'm in Solihull but physically not that fit enough and I have a pin hole (the car of course...) in a drive shaft gaiter but not sure if I should take it to a local (allegedly very good) mechanic. My mind is willing but rheumatoid arthritis and so on restrict what I can do. I'm hoping to be able to at least change the oil shortly however.

My car was restored by Renault Reborn about four years ago, perhaps I should give it a run up there in the better weather and virus situation...

If you clean off the rubber, and its not in a too stressed location, you can use the new glues which work well.
