I'm currently working on Our Mate:

The rear axles are severely damaged through rust, there's been worked on before, but I think i have to replace them.

So... where can I get 2 rear axles? I know a professional welder, who should be able to fix it. The trunk plate was cut out once, and replaced by some steel plate, but not that good, as water came through. So i also need something to put in place there.

If you can find a donor R4 with a decent boot floor you can cut the floor out and weld it into your R4. Any R4 Berline will do.

You should still be able to get them from your Renault garage parts department. They are very expensive and come in 3 sections. This is a very big job and they need to be welded on accurately. They are called chassis legs by the way! The only way to repair the boot floor is by cutting another one from a scrap R4.
