I change the oil and filters on our Dacia Duster every year or so, but see that every 6 years (or 72,000 miles, whichever comes first) the accessories belt and rollers, and the timing belt and rollers should be replaced.

Now, this is a job I'm not going to do myself, but given that it's done only 30,000 miles, how long would you wait to change these belts and rollers?

Thanks!

The book will say that at either 6 years ( because of age related degradation of the belt materials) or miles ( because of the work and flexing it has done) it should be replaced. And the outcome if it breaks in use is catastrophe. The engine will need replacing. I have never chanced that.

Good points, Edwin.

I'll get it booked in. It's also due brake fluid replacement and the fuel filter is difficult to get to as well.

All the best

Where are you in Herefordshire, I was brought up south of Newent, south Herefordshire.

We're in the West of Hereforshire. I've not ventured as far south as Newent!
