Hi I’m about to change drive shafts on my 4 I’ve bought some good second hand ones but on inspection of mine they have roll pins to hold them in position but the ones I’ve bought do not do anybody know if they will fit before I remove old ones thanks Al

Hi Al

It sounds like the second hand driveshafts you bought are the later type for the later type of gearbox. If your existing driveshafts have roll pins and hence an earlier type gearbox, the later type will not be compatible. Does your R4 date back to 1960's-1970's era? Images of your gearbox/existing driveshafts and the new driveshafts would be useful.

The ones with holding pins have a "female" connection toward the gearbox, while the ones you bought have "male" connections on both ends...
