Hi,
Im looking for an early style 4 speed gearbox mount (as shown by the photo)

Does anyone know where I might get one or get this one repaired ?

There is a slight issue with this one as shown

Many thanks,
Andrew

Hmm, been looking at the remains of the rubber and it doesn't look great but maybe glue able. think I might try gluing it unless anyone knows anywhere that can fix them or where I can buy one?

Not sure that will work, I guess the holes in the chassis will be fine but the later mount looks like its screws into the gearbox. the earlier mount has a large plate and is bolted onto the front of the gearbox. (around the outside requiring a plate)

Actually that might work looking at it again ! Time to go and have another look at the GTL me thinks!

Thanks for the idea malcolm, it looked completely different to me but looking at it more closely it isnt too different.

After moving a heap of stuff I took the mount off my spare gearbox. Top holes on the later mount match almost exactly with the bottom holes on the older mount.

Any thoughts other than hang it on 2 bolts or cutoff the old plate and weld it onto the later mount ?

I have some of them available, new, but the rear sheet metal plate is shorter and does not have the circular hole (perhaps they are for '72-'73 cars?). It will however fit just right on an earlier car with the starter dog (I have already fitted one on my '71).

Price is 25 euros, and postage to the UK 10,00 euros. Let me know if you are interested!
