1992LHD R4 TL, only 36,700 miles. Long MOT. Only 2 owners since new. Selling complete with spare engine and gearbox (see below). Originally bought by a little old lady in Normandy when she heard that production was going to cease, and then only taken out of the garage to collect dents until she died (see photos). Her son then took the car to SW France where he lived and sold it to me in 2015 (I was living there). I imported to the UK in 2019 after I moved back myself. I replaced the engine because the old one had always made a very slight ticking noise when warm. French garagistes told me not to worry about it (“it sounds like a Renault 4”), but I didn't think driving it back to the UK would be kind, so replaced the engine. I intended to strip the original one down, but never got round to it and it has sat in the garage ever since. Used regularly by me for the school run etc on both the original and replacement engine, and always gets a wave and a comment. Starts on the button and lots of fun to drive. Family favourite and reluctant sale due to needing space in the garage now the kids are getting on the road themselves.
Very honest and original car. All original paintwork (Sequoia Green, code 996). Structurally and mechanically very sound. Generally, condition reflects mileage not chronological age. New exhaust, ball joints here and there as required etc. Factory plastic covers still partially in
place on the back doors (I don't think the back doors had ever been opened until I bought it). All I have done cosmetically is to put primer on the old lady's battle scars to stop them rusting until I got round to a respray... which I never did.
