Front disk brake pins

Hi, wondered if someone can help me please? One of my front brakes is binding. Looks like the issue is the rubber sleeve on one of the girlingFB_IMG_1624795609349.jpg style calliper pins has broken up, causing it to stick. The other pin is of a different type. Which is correct for a 86 F4?

Where can I get a replacement pin and the bellows type seals please? Can't see them listed in the Der Franzose catalog.

Thanks, and much appreciated!!!

Just seen a previous article and does look like it needs a sleeved and non-sleeved pin per calliper?? Can someone point me in the right direction as to where I could find one please? Or is it looking like new callipers are required? For the sake of a pin I hope not! Lol

They are good tipe for girling caliper for one side. One has rubber slive other do not have it. And that is alright.

Rubber sliders can be found new. Made by FREINKIT. Bought mine at autodock.si. Believe there is co.uk web shop of same company.

You can check what i have done in my topic on link

Help! The UK stockists of Frenkit pins are messing me about, with the parts out of stock and no idea as to when they will be available.

I can't order from motor parts suppliers as my car is a French import, and nothing comes up against my registration number. Can I 'borrow' someone else's reg to order these parts? My car is a 86 F4 van, but surely the equivalent age car would be the same?

Thanks!!

Hi Rustyoldjcb

I don't have that set up on my R4 so cannot help out reg wise but:

The original Renault Part numbers used over the years for these kits were:

7701201062
7701202049
66001547622
7701203375

It will give you more options when trying to order the parts rather than just relying on Freinkit as your only source.

Thanks!!! So, do all those part numbers reference the same part, or different versions of the same?

BTW are you sure those references are correct? Just doing a quick search shows unsleeved pins. One of mine per side is sleeved.

Hi

Renault were in the habit of superseding part numbers. Old part numbers would then become obsolete from a Renault perspective. However, when you are searching for new old stock parts online, it is worth trying all the numbers as the seller might list them under any of the Renault numbers. They will just list the number on the box. The number on the box would have been the one in vogue at the time of manufacture. I have had a quick look on Ebay and you are right some of them are coming up as the unsleeved version. Some ebay sellers list under the wrong part number and as they are not Renault specialists they do get it wrong sometimes. Please see the pm I sent you with an image of the kit with the 7701201062 part number on the box. The seller is a Renault specialist.

I hope this helps.
