Gear Shift Bush Kit

Hi guys, after struggling to fit a new grommet and bush, and it only lasting a year before the rubber grommet started splitting, I did this little mod.
Spherical bearing held with two aluminium plates, and using the old grommet, modified to centralise the bearing.

I did the same, but designed a plastic housing for the bearing.
Then a friend saw it and wanted 10 pieces for him and his friends

We have two images here.
This from post #12 seems to show the bush inserted from the top



But this image from post #18 shows it inserted from the bottom.



Which is correct and does it matter?

I have always inserted them as per #12 from the top as they were originally fitted (as in the youtube clip).

I was rather hoping to do it "in situ" but I guess not
