Head restraints fitted!

Do you feel like it's more comfortable driving her now with the head restraints?

Well done Mark, did you found the mounting pieces (Renault oem number 7700553787) and changed the beige/brown tartan for red leather?
Or did you found another pair of front seats?
Regards, Joop

I most certainly do. I have chronic Rheumatoid Arthritis - hardly a joint is unaffected, including my spine. I had a C1/C2 (bit that holds one's head on) fusion just over 20 years ago but now I need work further down. Surgeon has barred me from cycling on public roads and he said a whiplash injury would be catastrophic, hence the rush to get head restraints fitted. There's people much worse off though.

It was thanks to you Joop that I could see what I needed and you gave me the part number. I got the secondhand restraints from a fellow forum member and fortunately I got the new and unused red covers with my (Renault Reborn restored) car when I bought it nearly 2 years ago. My wife fitted the covers and I finally (after much scouring dealers, forums, UK and European specialists and so on) found a R4 dismantler in Lille - with a tip from the ever helpful Simon Plockington - who had some. Schoolboy French and Google translate and many emails and the parts arrived on Tuesday last! My wife was keen to get them fitted, so she did it yesterday afternoon. We took the seat covers off because we couldn't feel the sockets - good job we did because they had caps fitted (not mentioned in the R4 handbook). She's done a great job I think you'll agree. Thanks again Joop for the sleeve details - couldn't have done it without you!

Seats look fantastic, where did you get the covers?
Renault Reborn fitted them before I bought the car and the unused (then) head rest covers were in the boot. I think they were from Der Franzose - give Simon Plockington a call at Louth for a steer, he's a very helpful and friendly chap
