-HELP PLEASE- clutch cable broken

hello,

i've just broken my clutch cable (renault R4 GTL 1984) and I need to buy a new one. I looked at http://www.speedycables.com but I am not sure about the spec of the cable.
Can anyone help me here?

Hi Nicolas have a look at Der Franzose.

I think that these are all for left hand drives so you had better check first

Hi Nicolas I've just read on this website that RHD cables aren't available anymore.

Might be easier to take your one out, send it Speedy and ask them to make up a new one

I had a new clutch cable made up by Speedy Cables, it works well, but make sure they use a stepped nipple at the pedal end. You will have to reuse the old cross-pin at the gear-box end as they of course won't supply this. If your clutch was heavy and this is maybe why your cable failed, spray some penetrating oil on the cross-shaft in the clutch housing to lubricate it.

I just noticed your thread. I do have a new old stock Renault 4GTL clutch cable (length: 146cm tip to tip) spare. As you probably know these are no longer available. I was going to keep it as a spare for mine. I would be prepared to let it go at £30 including postage just to get you back on the road again. If still interested contact me at:
