How to remove/fit apex panels?

I'm having my R4 welded and resprayed and have bought, among other stuff, the triangular apex panels as their edges are almost gone.
How do you remove the apex panels (where are they welded on) and how do you fit the new ones?

I thought that they were bolted on but then again as my wife often reminds me I'm seldom right!

Spot welded I think, which will mean drilling out each individual spot weld.

For the spot welds I find it easiest to grind them until they are really thin then remove them with a screwdriver - http://www.mig-welding.co.uk/removing-floor.htm
