Reason: Photos removed as the post was looking a bit promotional (see forum rules) - You can still see the photos in the gallery http://www.renault4.co.uk/gallery/index.php?cat=10035
This car is a highly modified Clio.

How much ?

I'm not interested in it to be honest but the reason a lot of modified cars fail to sell is that the owner wants to recoup some of his massive outlay so overprices it. A modified car is often worth no more than a standard one unfortunately, sometimes less.

Sad fact but there you go....

Hello there,

This forum is mainly concerned about issues relating to Renault 4 cars. However, as a former motor trader, there are a few points I could raise with you.

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. You may think your car is the bees knees, but do others?

Highly modified cars sell less well than standard models.

Insurance companies slap on a huge premium for anything highly modified which restricts the amount of people likely to buy your car. Therefore your price would need to be a lot lower to attract more interest.

You will never get back the amount of money spent on the modifications over and above the standard value of the car.

We spend lot's of money on restoring our Renault 4's to keep them in original condition. Any other mods we make are usually mechanical and benefit the performance and handling. We spend the money as we enjoy our cars, but most of us will never get all our money back if we sold them.

Hope this helps

Steve

1stly, Insurance companies now do not put the cost up for each modification but put a total cost of the modifications up, ive over 10k off mods and the premium went up £90. to a not bad premium of £515.

2ndly this car was 12k new has over 16k spent on mods and over 4k of ICE, i only want around the 8k mark for it which is only £500 over the average price off this very rare car.

Have you tried advertising in specialist magazines such as Max Power, the Street Machine mags or the car conversions mag? I'm guessing that would give some exposure to enthusiasts of this type of car.

:D
