Interchangeable part?

I'm looking for a reverse light switch for a Renault 352 gearbox. I believe the original Renault part number is 77 00 517 549 - but there's none to found anywhere.

A magazine I read said that this was interchangeable with one from a 4L or 4TL (also possibly a Fuego or 30 or 20 or 18).

Does anyone have a switch or is able to confirm the interchangeable part - then I can hunt through some salvage dealers.

I remember using one fron a Renault 16 with no problems on the 4 speed R4 box

I reckon one from an R5 might fit. Take your old one to the scrap yard and keep matching them up until you find one. Many parts on the earlier Renaults were interchangable! Unlike nowadays where rip off R..............................there I go again, somebody stop me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
