The Garden of Ireland Vintage and Classic Car club took the initiative of organising a meeting to mark the 50th anniversary of the Renault 4 today in Bray, Co. Wicklow.
Ten Renault 4s showed up, several of them Irish assembled. One Mk1 R5 also made an appearance.
One red 1979 model '390NZH' had been owned by the same owner for 17 years when traded into a Renault dealer in 1996 to participate in the scrappage scheme. The Renault dealer saved it and thankfully the car remains and is in unrestored, brand-new condition.
