I have a petrol leak which appears to be coming from the top of the float chamber, and dripping on to the inlet manifold. It’s been there for a while but fairly slight. It’s more visible now as I cleaned the carb exterior before replacing the main gasket (which I assumed might be the source of the leak). Could the float chamber needle valve be failing to close resulting in an overflow? The engine starts and runs without any issues.
It’s a nice sunny day here in Scotland so a good opportunity to remove the carb again and clean and check the inside.
