Hello, I bought a 1975 R4 TL to get on the road again. It needs everything. I doubt that previous maintenance was done correctly by the book because the car didn't come with one.

I don't know how often oil and other fluids should be changed and what type they should be,

I know for sure I would like to know what spark plugs are correct for this engine, type of oil and amount, also type of oil and amount of the gearbox, changing intervals, how often the valve adjustment is checked and what it should be. I will be resealing the engine. It leaks oil a bit, timing it. It ran when I got it, but the oil absolutely reeks of fuel.
All hydraulic brake parts are going to be replaced.

An online PDF download would be nice.

I attach a pic of the engine id plate

Thanks in advance, Matthew

This is the relevant page from the Renault 4 manual:

And this is a photo of an engine plate on an 1108cc (Cléon) engine (GTL) - note that the plate sits on the engine block just above the oil filter, not at the front of the engine:

Plugs for the 800/B1B (Billancourt) engine: L87Y
Valve (rocker arm) clearances (on a cold engine): Inlet: 0.15mm Exhaust: 0.20mm

Please don't rely on your engine plate - if you order parts based on that, they'll be wrong!

The current plugs are n17y, so I'm going to replace them with L87y. Do you have a photo of the cover of the Renault 4 manual? I would like to get one, but there are different types.
