Need a renault 4 - London

Hello new to the forum and have recently discovered the renault 4. I am a new driver and also expecting a baby and wanted to know realistically if an 80s renault 4 with good engine and minimal rust would make a good first car ! I am after the 4 door and live in London and hoping to pay around 2500. My partner has an old 56 land rover so good with parts etc . Any advice? Thanks!

You may need to lengthen the seatbelts in order to strap in a baby seat. For example, using a Securon SE-227.

They'd be an ideal choice for running round London.

Getting one as rust free as possible is the main thing, parts and servicing wise, I can still order most parts from my local motor factors.

Plus in London you have the fantastic Renospeed garage, which is a specialist Renault 4 garage. It's in Lewisham. See www.renospeed.co.uk. They might even have one or two for sale.

mine has only a small bit of rust at the back and im getting that sorted before i sell mine its a 1992 tl 1L with full service history but it is a left hand drive.
