Newmarket Calling

My aunt and uncle were doing their saturday shop in Waitrose, Newmarket when they saw this little orange 4L burble out of a parking space and down the road. In the window was a notice that said A.V and a phone number. They were lucky enough to catch it and they have now bought it.

Originally from Averyon, Its an 845cc model from 1984. Im going to give it a good service and it will be returning to Brittany in the summer.

If that is the "basic" model, it might not have (i) a heated rear window (ii) a rear red spotlight (iii) hazard flasher. However, all the circuitry for these will be behind the speedo (on the cheaper model they simply did not connect it up) and you only need the appropriate console switches to get everything working, rather than having the fiddle of spoiling the dashboard with aftermarket switches.

My latest (1985) R4, recently acquired, was like that. The switches should be easily obtainable on eBay.fr or from a scrapyard (I think R5s also had the same ones).

Amazingly my uncle called ATS and asked for a side exit tail pipe and after he quoted the renault part number they had one. Gob Smacked!
