Has anyone any experience with this company: SPL Ltd

They advertise a process of chemical stripping followed by electrophoretic immersion coating. They quoted me £280 for a R4 chassis and a further £280 for the coating process. I would be interested to hear from anyone with comments to make about this of similar companies

Two fellow Manta Club members have had their shells stripped, and while it seems like a good idea, the amount of rotten metal the acid exposed was incredible. One of the shells had been totally stripped and had all the well known rot spots repaired with new panels. When it came back both inner front wings, front crossmember, B post and complete rear quarter were found to be totally shot. Luckily he's a Vauxhall parts manager so he found all the panels new.

It seems to be a very harsh process so if you do go ahead make sure you're prepared for the worst. Saying that, sandblasting is also very harsh but it costs 1/4 what SPL want.
