plastic door handles

Hi all,
Does anyone know what years the grey plastic door handles were used on R4's? I am restoring an early [1963] to R3/4 specs and, based on the photos I've seen, I am assuming they were used on the more basic R3/4 models. However recently I was told they might also have come in later, on some 4L's. Does any one have a definitive answer? Maybe I have misinterpreted the photos and I am mistaking what looks like plastic is just painted, unchromed metal handles.
Any ideas?
Ron

I think that gray plastic handles were used in '80 and '90. Somehow when GTL model was introduced. About '82-'84 onwards. Before they were metal chrome, and plastic chrome

My French '85 TL basic has grey plastic handles. My 88 Spanish GTL has plastic chrome handles. My '72 L basic has grey plastic handles.

I think that from the beginning of production, grey handles have been available on base car models, and all van models.

It was from ~1982 that they became standard on the TL too.

My 1966 uk market model had stainless steel door handles, but my 1989 Portuguese model has grey plastic ones.
