Police car model type

I have a R4 in France, 1984 ex cop car

So it has thick leather seats, non opening rear windows etc

But as all trim is off, as seems to be the way with police cars around the world, I dont know what model it is. Would the chassis # be a way to find out?

It needs new rear shocks so I need to make sure i dont get it wrong, or are they all the same?

Hi,
