R18 american2 speedometer conversion mph

Hi,

I'm moving from Canada to Guernsey and my father from France wants to give me his R 18 to help.
As a requirement, the Bailiwick of Guernsey now requires imported vehicles to display a speedometer in mph.

Can you please help me to find a 1984 Renault 18 american 2 speedometer in mph.

I suspect most R18s had much the same speedometer. Best place to look would probably be eBay.

Otherwise normally you can mark the mph speeds with stick on labels (those coloured dots you can buy with the speed in mph written on them).

This is a common problem. When a similar question came up before, I did loads of different Google searches and found a company in the UK that would change the face of the speedos to mph. What I was actually searching for was a sticker that would attach to the speedo head and someone must do these. Otherwise you may need to obtain a second-hand speedo head in mph, but the problem is that R18's are few and far between these days. It may be worth posting your request on the Renault Classic Car Club website as someone there may be able to help.
