Ah David, its turn of speed might be something to do with its 1400cc engine, but it's still an impressive distance none the less. Marigold has just topped 129000 miles, bit of a way to go yet

What are members' records for the highest mileages achieved with (i) the 747cc (ii) the 845cc (iii) the 1108 cc engines (i.e. the three main sizes) ?

I can start the ball rolling with my 845cc which has done 154452 miles or 248569 kilometres (the conversion factor is 5280.0/3280.8) — although it now has serious compression problems and is currently relegated to the status of a field runabout.

Mileage - F6 has only 76,000 miles on it. Highest mileage 1108cc engine I've had was a '83 5 GTL with 128,000. Mechanically spot on but rotten body sadly.

My father owned an 1978 R4 TL (1123 model) made in Slovenia (at that time it was still Yugoslavia) and sold it in 1995 with 438xxx km on clock.
New owner drove it for good 6 or 7 years more.
But after that i did not see it on road anymore!

Even find owner to buy car back but unfortunately car was gone.


I was wondering, is this 1.4 engine put in R4 afterward or was it out of factory like that?
I really must say that i am not aware that 1.4 engine was originally in R4!

Non standard.

I would love a 1.4 engine in mine. Clan has cornered 142000 Kms. I bought it in June 2012 with 92000kms on the clock! And I've enjoyed every mile of it. It doesn't like this cold weather though and is in need of two new front tyres, o/s/f wheel bearing and drive shaft. Plus an oil change again and a coat of waste oil
