R4l 1967 starting trouble

Hii,
I wonder if anyone could give some advise? I have a 1967 R4l which although I don't use often is started up once every few weeks. This weekend I did this as usual, It took a while to get the engine to fire but it did and turned over on choke at reasonable revs for about 10 second. It then cut out as I shifted into reverse. Now it won't start at all. It's 6V electrics and the engine turns over on the key but will not start! Any ideas?
Thanks
Robin

When this happened to me I fitted a new dizzy cap plus new plugs and condenser and it fired up straight away.
Why not see if you have any spark at the plugs, if you have then it could be the carb, test it by removing the fuel pipe and put it in a jar or small bottle , turn the engine over a few times and see if there is any fuel coming through, should not be too difficult to fix.

Back up and running

Thanks billythefish.
A quick blow down the fuel line did the trick and it's back to normal.
