Rattling mirrors.

Hello all.
My car is reasonably quiet whilst rolling along which is why my RH and LH black plastic later type mirrors ability to rattle is so anoying. The glass is slightly loose and that movement is transmitted into the door on both sides, so I am annoyed in stereo. I have thought of drilling a hole in the case and squirting in some silicone, or mirror glue or frame foam or Grab it.

Any suggestions please. As ever, thank you.

How about a bead of silicone around the edge, between mirror and plastic body.

Thank you. Yes, but you can see that. I am trying to keep the car looking good and original.

A small piece of rubber, perhaps from a tyre inner tube, cut to fit and wedged in place behind the fitting?
