Rear drum adjustment

Been going round my F6 reading it for the upcoming ITV, I’ve taken off both rear drums just to check before test, there both Bendix, shoes, cylinders drums all OK and cleaned, adjusters free etc just a quick question, when adjusting them up using the adjusters I’m unsure of how much to let the adjusters off once the shoes grab ( used to ‘clicks’). Roughly whats the recommended turn back off from locked for the shoes ( four face adjusters, 1/4 face turn, 1/2 face turn off etc) or it is just feel and trial?

My method is as follows. I have found it successful even on the 1960’s models with 4 drum brakes and no discs at the front.
Firstly, lubricate the adjusters inside and outside the hub.
I’ve always fully backed off the adjuster to fit the shoes inside the drum. Adjust the shoes until until they just rub the drum.
Then apply the brake pedal to re-centre the brake shoes. Check for binding again. Repeat the steps until free movement is just possible.
Lubricate the adjusters.
Move to the next side.
The brake pedal should be high and hard with about 1-2 cm of travel if you’ve got it right.

Thanks for method and reply.
