removal of 1978 plastic fresh air vent. external part.

Hello all. i am trying to remove the outside front air vent. just below the windscreen. its a black plastic one. i have removed the four screws. no luck. it
may need pushing left or righr.? but i dont want to marmalize it, any tips from yooze experts. the vent flap has fallen off behind it. im hopeing to be able to fix that. all best. nigel

Hello Nigel, the air vent has 2 plastic clips on each side that fit into the holes as shown in the photo.

After removing the 4 little screws, pull the bottom of the vent outwards and then downwards. There is a lip at the top of the vent, which prevents it from moving outwards, but no lip at the bottom.

Good luck, years ago I broke my vent trying to remove it, so be gentle
