Rod wanted

Hi, as well as driving a Renault 4, I also race an Austin 7, as you may know a number of these use R4 rods and pistons now. At April Silverstone one of the VSCC's oldest competitors (over 80), lost a rod out of his A7, well it was caught by one of the marshals! On being returned by post, it was in too poor condition to be used.

What is needed is a Renault 4 type of rod with a 16mm pin. (845cc type)

If anyone has one or any spare, please message me and I can pass on details.
Normal going rate will be paid.

I do believe the Austine 7 boys use 4cv rods from the 750cc 4cv engine with shell bearings.
I almost certainly have a spare set.Gary

Hi Gary, most use the 845cc rods, but that may be because there are more around (or were!). Could be that 4CV rods have been used before too, but got too scarce? will let you know if needed. cheers.

PS If you're in Lincolnshire on 11th June, there will be quite a few A7s and other vintage cars racing at Cadwell Park. Not sure I'm racing yet, but if not I'll be watching and drive up in the R4.
