Rodeo & 4L questions

Hi,
New member here. I'm not a mechanic hence the following questions. I'm now based in France near Montpellier for the next year and will be looking around soon for a car. I've always liked the 4L and there are a few on the market (I expect there will be more after the '4L RAID' event is over. I have two main questions:
1. Assuming a get a decent 4L how reliable are they and how easy is it to do the basic maintenance oneself?
2. I have seen also a Rodeo for sale (only seen photo so far but the body looks in reasonable-to-good condition and it's being sold with a CT for under €2000). What are your thoughts on this car re. reliability and ease of basic maintenance for a novice?
Thanks in advance,
Mike.

Hello
Buy a 4L ,very reliable, cheap to run (40mpg)easy to service, plenty of spares, and go anywhere ,also becomming collectable, what more can i say!
Rodeo is same platform with plastic body, probably summer use only.

4Ls in France

There is an excellent specialist just down the road from you in Narbonne. He can supply and/or do everything 4L. Search for RENOV4L - may also be able to supply a car - I use a 1978 F4 van everyday and can say they are practical, cheap and easy to maintain.
