Seat cover interchangeable between R4 & R6?

I've a 1976 R6 TL and the seat covers have had it. I found I can buy on line pre 1980 R4 seat covers both front and back and I'm wondering if they would fit my 6. Does anyone know if they would?

Hello JFM,

I saw your post above. I too have a left hand drive (French) R6TL which is 1977. I also have a 1983 R4 GTL.

As far as I can see, the front seats are identical on both models. However there are slight differences on the rear seats. I have taken a few pictures to help.

As you may be able to see, the shapes of the seat cushion and the seat back curve differently around the rear wheel arches. The pictures are not the best I'm afraid. The R4 seat is on the left as you look at pic.

I hope trhis helps answers your question but it is possible too that the earlier R4 seat covers would fit your rear seat!
