We have just got back from a trip to Southern Spain - in our C#####n BX, (3800 km at about 59 miles per gallon 
), and on the way we saw about 3 dozen R4's all returning from the Renault 4 Trophy, all but one under their own steam, the other was being trailered. Most were saloons, with several vans and only one pickup. There were nearly all spotted on the route from Angouleme to around Burgos - where we stopped for the night, with a couple of stragglers spotted the next day on the way to Madrid. Presumably they were on the way back to some sort of finishers / prizegiving ceremony.
