Twingo I sought

Hi everyone

A long shot here, but if anyone has or knows of a mark 1 Twingo which might be available for purchase, please let me know!

In an ideal world it would be an early car (or a 2006 model) - Scottish LEZ zone exemptions! - but I'd consider anything which wasn't a total basket case.

I've wanted one since first seeing them in 1993 and am in the process of selling a Mini to make space in the garage. I've considered the idea of importing one, but the logistics are so complicated that I've basically rejected that - for now anyway!

quick update on this! An experience Twingoïste offered to sell me their car in August...so I'm now finding my feet in Renault-land after a long time with a Mini.
The car is an early Cléon model so there are links to the R4 and R5.

thanks! I've heard of that one (needs a bit of work I believe but sounds like a bargain!). I managed to track down a Twingo in the summer which has been good fun this autumn and is now tucked up in the garage waiting for the road salt to vanish in the spring. A few winter jobs to do on it in the meantime.

I have a 2001 Twingo Mk 1 and everything is still fine.
Beware that early Twingo mk 1's have a weak point with the engine subframe which is prone to rust.
Furthermore be sure that the timing belt is replaced every 5 years or 120,000 km.

thanks! noted re the subframe. Wirebrushing and Bilt Hamber is on my winter list.
The early Twingos have the older Cléon engine (C3G) with a chain not a timing belt
