Water Pump for my 1963 Renault 4

Hi All,

I am new to the forum and to Renault. Just bought today a 1963 R4 and i need some help with parts. I urgently need a water pump as the one on the car is completely gone. I am based in Cyprus so i need a web site or online shop that posts international.

This is an early model with the thermostat in the top hose(or are they all the same?). I will also need a thermostat.

Does anybody know the part numbers for the above?

Hi Chris, welcome to the forum. I can't help with part numbers but there are a couple of suppliers of parts in Europe, Melun Retro Passion in France and Der Franzose in Germany, they should be able to help you with parts for your car I should think. Haven't you found an early car, well done, I guess they live much longer in Cyprus, something to do with the climate? I believe the thermostat is in the top hose on all models. Thanks i will to get in touch with the shops you mentioned and i hope they will be abletohelp.

My renault i will say is a barn find. Is in relatively good condition with little or no visible rust. It was in a closed garage for the last 20 years and its a two owners car. Interior is perfect as it was refurbished some 20 years ago by previous owner. I started it yesterday and the engine runs smoothly. I will need to overhaul the brake system and the rest is cosmetic. I own few classics: Triumph 2500PI MK2, 2000 MK2, Morris Minor Traveler and in major rebuildof an Alfa Romeo Junior 1300 GT (step front)...

I bought the R4 for 300Euro to save it from gong to the scrab yard and i am falling in love with her....

Hi Chris, you have a nice collection of classics there, and I'm sure we are all glad to hear you've saved another 4L from the dreaded scrapper, and it sounds like a good'en. I know what you mean about falling in love with a 4, as I did the same with ours when I collected it from the seller for a friend? Hope you find the parts you need. Brian.
