I've just been searching through an old shoe box amongst a pile of old photos when I came across an invoice from a breakers yard (Thanet Metals, Harbourland, Boxley Road, Maidstone) who on 19 January 1984 paid me the grand sum of £10 for the rusty wreck of my first Renault 4, and the invoice even bares the car's registration number WJN884J.
That got me delving. The DVLA website tells me that this was a blue Renault 4TL, 845cc, and was first registered in Chelmsford, Essex, in November 1970. The car was never taxed nor MoT'd again so I presume it was crushed soon afterwards.
I was just wondering - and I know it's only a very slight chance - whether anybody here recognises the reg number from all of those years ago.
I have just one photo of the car but it shows my wife changing our son's nappy under the rear hatch (he's now 36yrs old) and he wouldn't appreciate it appearing here ;-)
