Heres a few pictures of my r4tl originally from Majorca I have spent the winter giving it a refurb, would love some comments not too harsh please, regards nick
hi,jonathan about 9 holes in total, all the usual places. The car was imported by the owner "mikey" of this forum in2011,but with no rust protection to speak of the dreaded tinworm soon took hold.Managed to repair though and has been pumped with dinitrol so hopefully will last a while yet.Majorca? Interesting Im guessing it had very little rust coming from that environment. But not so little that you had to weld the rear chassis legs?
Good Job!
Hi paul that a panel is tricky to remove as it is factory spot welded, racked my brains a bit and decided bending the panel below its welded points was the easiest option.I am a carpenter by trade so all this welding malarkey is a whole new experience to me.Nick, the last couple of ages show how you repaired rust holes next to the front jacking points and the common method of bending up the outer sill. This seems a bit extreme and I was wondering if there is a less drastic solution?
