Boot rubber seal

Hello all

The rubber lining the boot lid on my 86 R4 has turned to sponge, its holding water and accelerating the rust.

Is this what i need to buy?

It doesn't look right but just thought I'd ask if anyone has any advice.

It says it's an original part, which must mean the quality is like original! €22,50 isn't a bad price. My local dealer wants €35 for it and at Melun Retro Passion they cost €35 too. http://www.melun-retro-passion.com/...-berline-conforme-a-l-origine-id-309000N.html

Though both parts look different (look at the difference in length of the cross-parts).

I have only experience of the one from Franzöze.It's quite stiff to "screw" in and ends wont fit in beginning.Side seals must be longer than in Melun's case.My existing seal looked like the one from Franzöze.
Side seals i purchased also from franzöze as the set for other four doors.

You have to put some effort on the boot lid seal ends and a lot of glue.

It will work fine, at least it's new and better than the old one !

I'm lucky enough to know a retired coach trimmer, he has all the glue & know how so I think I'm going to invest in new seals all round.
