Compression ratio on the 845

Robert,
slower answer...

I haven't found any clue as to which versions got the lower compression ratio engines in my collection of manuals.

What I can tell you is the 8:1 engine has a 27.3cc combustion chamber whereas the 7.5:1 has 31cc. The length of the pushrod differs also - 8:1 rods are 132mm while 7.5:1 are 135; 3mm longer. I don't know but that might be important. It might help you identify what you've got if you were wondering.

Perfect! Thanks!
I was wondering about compressions because I figure that in the poor road countries they might have delivered the lower compression model engines in the sixties. As fuel processing improved then I would think the compression would have gone up thus increasing the power in the engines.
Barnfind, thanks for the chart! Solves my question!
