F4 Door Lock

Have moved commenting on my activity with the front door lock from Parts wanted to here.

After some 'fiddling' got it back together again as picture shows.
Have some thoughts which I would appreciate comments on:-
Spring seems loose now in comparison with pre strip down. No washers etc., have been misplaced.
Is function of screw to locate the pin?

Screw is not a factory fitment, it must had been added on at a previous overhaul.

Forgive an old gaffer but am obviously getting very "thick" in old age.
Borrowed a picture from la4desylvie to ask my question.
Does the arm [purple in picture] just sit on top of the pin?

It's as it is pictured: it pushes the roll pin with its side. The hole on top of the lever is not for the roll pin to pass through.
