Is there any way to know what kind of engine do I have if there is no plate on it ? The plate has ben removed and I'm sure this isn't original engine in my car.

Looks like 1,3 engine but there were a few so how Can I tell the exact power and everything else ?

There are some numbers on the block the longest one in the left down corner on the picture ( under diamond sign ) says 77700597664
there are also signatures like AL FD12 22
The other side has number 32 on it and in a square numbers 17 / 7

The head has a small number from the top ( next to manifolds ) M61 or 19W depending from what side we read it.

Not in fallible but a clue is length of spark plug threads 1981 on wards all 1289 cc R5 and 1397 cc ts /tx engines had 19 mm length plug threads
all 1.3 and 1.4 had 3 studs holding rocker cover on rather than 2 on 956 and 1108
this assumes no one has been swapping parts around
More photos might help different countries will have had different specs on power output depending on cam shaft and compression ratio

Spark plug threads are something about 9mm long. Rocking cover with 2 studs and no high mount for the oil filler cap.
3 bolt mounting where the fuel pump is with a blanking plate between.
5 crankshaft bearings Carburettor seems quite small for an engine so big. Not original radiator fan, because the engine was mounted in a early R4 with no electric fan motor and the original fan (4bolts) doesn't fit the water pump (3 bolts)

Looks like 1108 to me if you use that fan blade it will push air back through radiator as 845 runs opposite direction :-)

I thought I would worry about the fan direction after installing the engine :) Turning it around should fix the proplem right ? Just need to find quite thick spacer to pun inside so it wouldn't touch the pump.

Have you got gearbox as well if it's going in an 845 car or whole car for donor vehicle
Turning fan round won't help think about it :-)

I bought the car and another car with 0,8 engine as spare donor. I've got two gearboxes both look like late types with 4 gears. I don't have the picture but they both look like this one. It was in the car with the 1,1 engine and it worked well.
Is there any fan easily available that would fit my needs?r

The 1,1 engine turns diffrent than the smaller engines? And the gearboxes cant be used between them?

Excuse my ignorance,
I thought that the 845 had the fan driven from the water pump, just next to the engine.
I also thought that the 1108 had the radiator (and fan) at the front, just behind the grille.
.???

That's the way it is normally done. I think the 1108cc engine is longer than the 850 and there isn't enough room for an engine driven cooling fan.

When I fitted an 1108cc into an 850 I moved the radiator to the GTL position right at the front of the engine bay and fitted the GTL electric fan. The downside is the bonnet struts had to be removed for clearance and that makes the bonnet floppy when open. I think the fuel pump fouls the handbrake mechanism too.

1108cc looks bigger im every dimmension but I havent measured both. When I finish the car I will think of restoring the 850 engine too and keep it as a spare.
I will try to figure out something with the fan when I fit the 1108cc engine. I found very thin aluminium fans that could do the trick. I want the radiator to be in the original position on the steering rack. If the fan doesn't fit on the flywheel I will use electric as a last resort -because I have it too. The fuel pump would touch the handbrake on a RHD car , but mine is LHD. I also have the newer type bonet without the struts. The original bonet is little rusty and out of its shape so I left it and got another that fits better.

How to remove the aluminium rings with driveshaft oil seals from the gearbox ?? The oil seals are put from the inside. Are the aluminium parts threaded and need to be unscrewed?

The distributor says Duceler 5250810 , R280052 ; The carburettor is ZENITH V05 078A , A2 02 02

.

The 1108cc is longer and the original front gearbox mount didn't fit.. But the radiator could be left on its place. I jus needed to find the right fan. And i did. Everything works fine. I'll put some pictures asap.
