R4 kit car

I was interested in buying this car but the logbook still shows the car as a 78 R4 TL five door hatch.
This has put me off as I do not want endless grief with the dvla or insurance.
Has anyone any experience of changing the log book or will I end up with inspections and a Q plate?

I would expect that DVLA would insist on a BIVA test which would probably end up as a right load of hassle tba.

I have one of these, a Malibu, also T reg but the V5 shows it as a convertible. It was converted in the early 90's when it was easier to do conversions but it may help to set a precedent if you have problems. Try quoting TTR721T to the DVLA and see what happens. Mine lacks those attractive sidescreens so it is a fair weather car only.
