I thought I might try here before going to the specialists. I need a rear door catch with keys for my 1986 GTL. Anyone?

http://www.franzose.de/ on here bud, I got a classic two hook style for my GTL since I don't like the GTL one hook style. (Which could be in teh pile of bits in my room with key)

Could you lease elaborate - one hook/two hook - as I don't have any catch at all. Anything would be better than nothing for me.

When you say 'two hook style' do you mean the chrome T-handle style? I'd be happy with the grey one. If you have one, can I buy it from you?And will you get back to me? Other wise I will have the der Franzose one.

I think I have one in there with two keys, which match a door barrel too. I'll look soon.

Lovely. Would you like to email me with a price + postage to pn31146(at)hotmail.co.uk? Thanks a lot.

I've got the half of the catch that attaches to the tailgate itself should you need ....

Thanks Jonathan. It looks like the entire lock is there.

I had a good look at my seats and door panels today. The drivers seat is poor but the rest is fine. I shal swop the driver and passenger seats across so could do with a decent tartan seat cover or seat.

Paul, if you have a key that will go into the lock, but won't unlock it, you can easily make it do so!
With the key in the lock, take off the Circlip holding the barrel in the lock assembly, ease the barrel out and with the key in the barrel file (or even quicker grind) the little brass 'tumblers' until they are in-line with the barrel. Put the barrel back in, Circlip back on, 'Vouilla'. Thats worked with every one I've done (probably about 8-9 now front and rear door locks).
Let me know how you get on sir?
Any problem let me know;-)

The previous owner ĺost original 15 years ago opens perfect using little finger
Hope you can find one or you will get marked down at the next Concourse show ☺

Of course that's an old trick of mine as well but then a Good 50%of R4 keys fit

Paul, You mean 'concours' as in 'concours d'elegance' rather than 'concourse', an area in front of a public building. Sorry, too much Hammerite fumes.;-)

I have two tailgates so I should have that spare somewhere too.

Jonathan, No it's the actual latch and keys that I am after. I am still waiting for Eoynteenie to get back to me though.

yea sorry Paul, Got the email, but hadn't had time to go searching for the other bits.

Trying to buy a house at the moment and just had the shit hit the fan so not happy at the mo.

Okey dokey, you seem to have enough on your plate. With only one window catch and no rear door lock, I'd like to make the little car more secure before some light fingered lowlife decides to take a butchers.
