Year-69.Motor 845cc. The car has had two owners before me. Sold in Germany and reg. first time in Poland -82. I've had it since 2006. It has Polish reg.nr and is not registered in Sweden. I am selling the car because I am not need it anymore but it works great and I have restored both inside and out. The only thing is a small bump on front left side, who arrived in at a minor accident with a deer. This is a car that is close to my heart and it's hard to let go of it, so it is very well maintained. The car's history has bean controlled by the Polish police and have never been involved in an serious accident. (Except deer) Right now, it is in a warm garage.

There was an extended exchange of Posts on this website recently (flames fuelled by me, I have to admit) regarding R4s which are shown as a certain [early] year on Registration Documents but are in fact newer models. This is relevant in the UK because only cars which were manufactured before January 1st 1973 are eligible for Tax-Exempt status (free Road Tax). Anyone who is interested — put the Thread title "Red Renault in Rural Lincolnshire" into the Search box.

R4 GTLs (1108cc) were only introduced in the late 1970s. So this car is not a GTL.

It looks to me like a R1123 845cc (R4TL) which was introduced in France in mid-1982 (and ran until 1986-7. My current runabout is one of these from 1984, also first registered in Germany). The wheels, bonnet design, sunroof design and ventilator grille (rather than flap) bear this out. BUT it has "external" door hinges which are characteristic of earlier models, also chrome body trim. One's first reaction is that this car has been reconstructed at some stage from donor vehicles.

Anyone in the UK thinking that this car would automatically be granted Tax-Exempt status should think carefully before buying. I can tell you from personal experience (the procedures I had to follow when importing my previously-mentioned 4TL) that DVLA are very meticulous about ensuring that a vehicle is exactly what the owner says (or thinks) it is. Having said that, it looks like a nice vehicle .

It looks like a 1982 TL. I think this was the last year with chrome trim and the hinges went internal slightly before the chrome trim disappeared.

Whatever it is (and I can't see it being a 1969 car either) it does look rather nice. Dent adds character as well :)

€5670 or thereabouts seems a bit salty though.

I had this car from 2006 and im not specialist so i will post more serial numbers and pictures. I remember that the guy who was selling me this car had one more angine 1100cc. In the back there is this plastic name said renault 4GTL and i did not put that on my car it was when i got it.

Whats it worth? Its worth what someone will pay I suppose, and the asking price is entirely up to you! Your price might be reasonable in Sweden I don't know but it certainly looks a little expensive from where I'm sat. That said, valuing R4s does seem to be a bit of a dark art and sale prices can be all over the place for different cars.

The car you linked (red '69) is well worth the money - its a one owner car with very low mileage and seemingly rust / damage free. I'd happily pay that sort of €€€ for it. I like your car a lot but the red one looks a lot better value for money to my mind.

or forget about it, there is a R4 with only 79 miles on the clock kicking round.
